Countdown to NAISU 2026: Auto Giants Set for Lagos

Lagos will become the centre of Nigeria’s automotive future on Thursday, July 30, as leading vehicle manufacturers, regulators, investors and mobility experts converge for the 3rd Nigeria Auto Industry Summit (NAISU 2026).

The high-profile gathering is expected to influence the next phase of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s clean mobility agenda, with Electric Vehicles (EVs) and Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) taking centre stage.

Organised by the Nigeria Auto Journalists Association (NAJA) in partnership with the National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC), the summit will hold at the Radisson Hotel, GRA, Ikeja, under the theme: “Nigeria’s Clean Mobility Future: The EV and CNG Journey Under the Bola Tinubu Administration.”

Top automotive brands, including Weststar Associates, Toyota Nigeria Limited (TNL), Jetour, Carloha Nigeria, Simba Group, Cedric Masters Group, Coscharis Motors and LSM, have confirmed participation alongside senior government officials, regulators, financiers, fleet operators and development partners.

A major attraction will be the keynote address by the Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), who will outline strategies for the safe integration of EVs and CNG-powered vehicles into Nigeria’s transport system. Other experts will examine infrastructure, financing, local manufacturing, technology transfer and policy reforms needed to accelerate the country’s transition to cleaner, more affordable transportation.

NAJA Chairman, Theodore Opara, described the summit as one of Nigeria’s foremost platforms for shaping automotive policy, saying this year’s edition comes at a defining moment as the nation embraces alternative energy and seeks to reduce transport costs while boosting local vehicle production.

Chairman of the Planning Committee, Rasheed Bisiriyu, said all arrangements had been concluded for what promises to be one of the industry’s most influential gatherings, adding that participants should expect practical discussions capable of driving investment and transforming Nigeria into a leading clean mobility hub in Africa.

With the Federal Government intensifying implementation of the Presidential Compressed Natural Gas Initiative (PCNGI), industry watchers believe the summit could help determine the pace of Nigeria’s transition to a cleaner, more sustainable automotive future.
