Abuja is set for an automotive spectacle with a brand-new Toyota Starlet Cross now confirmed as the grand prize in a high-profile raffle approved by the National Lottery Regulatory Commission (NLRC) for the much-anticipated Kojo Motors Auto Show, holding from December 3 to 5, 2026.
The NLRC approval clears the way for Kojo Motors Limited to conduct a live raffle at its ultramodern showroom on Plot 1209, Shehu Yar’Adua Way, Mabushi, Abuja, with participants also standing a chance to win five other major prizes, including a Hisense 75-inch QLED television, Samsung refrigerator, ScanFrost freezer, Aeon 13kg washing machine and TCL 8kg inverter washing machine.
The giveaway of a brand-new Toyota Starlet Cross is expected to become one of the major attractions of the three-day automotive extravaganza, particularly at a time when the cost of acquiring new vehicles has risen sharply across Nigeria.
The show, which will feature vehicle brands under the Kojo Motors Group, including Yutong, OMAA and Jetour, is being positioned as a major gathering of motoring enthusiasts, customers, vehicle dealers, manufacturers and other industry stakeholders.
At the centre of the ambitious event is the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Kojo Motors, Ikenna Oguegbu, a veteran automobile dealer whose reputation for doggedness and visionary enterprise has helped shape the dealership’s presence in Abuja.
Beyond the opportunity to win a brand-new car, the event is expected to offer visitors a close-up experience of a wide range of automotive products and services, turning the Kojo Motors showroom into a major motoring destination during the three-day event.
According to the organisers, the NLRC-approved raffle has been designed to guarantee fairness, transparency and equal opportunity for eligible participants.
Under the approved procedure, the raffle will be conducted physically in the presence of designated raffle officials, witnesses and members of the audience. Each eligible participant will receive a uniquely numbered raffle ticket, with the corresponding ticket stub deposited in the official draw box.
The tickets must be identical in size, appearance and folding method to ensure fairness. Before the draw begins, officials will inspect the draw box to confirm that it is empty, after which the box and tickets will remain under their control until the exercise is concluded.
The eligibility of participants and total number of valid raffle tickets will also be verified and recorded before the draw. The raffle box and tickets will be displayed to the audience, while officials and witnesses explain the draw procedure before commencement.
For each prize, the box will be thoroughly mixed before a designated official randomly selects a ticket without looking inside. The winning number will be announced and displayed for verification, while the identity of the holder will be checked against the official raffle records.
The winning ticket will not be returned to the box, with the process continuing until all six prizes have been awarded.
The approved sequence will begin with the TCL 8kg inverter washing machine, followed by the Aeon 13kg washing machine, ScanFrost freezer, Samsung refrigerator and Hisense 75-inch QLED television, before the much-anticipated final draw for the Toyota Starlet Cross.
The rules also provide for a re-draw where a selected ticket is found to be invalid, duplicated, ineligible or unmatched with the official raffle records. An individual can win only one prize; consequently, if a previous winner is selected again, another draw will be conducted.
Winners present at the venue will be required to provide appropriate identification and verification details before collecting their prizes and signing a prize acknowledgement form. Where immediate collection is not possible, a formal prize-collection notification will be issued.
For the grand-prize winner, the Toyota Starlet Cross will be handed over following completion of the applicable documentation and registration or transfer requirements.
With the NLRC approval adding regulatory backing to the raffle, expectations are already building around the Kojo Motors Auto Show, which promises to combine automotive exhibition, product discovery and the excitement of a potentially life-changing prize.
For motoring enthusiasts in Abuja and beyond, the biggest question may ultimately be simple: Who will drive away the brand-new Toyota Starlet Cross?
