OMODA & JAECOO Storm Europe as Global Sales Soar 123%

Omoda & Jaecoo are accelerating their European invasion, with September sales surging 123 per cent globally to 73,421 units as the Chinese automotive brands strengthen their grip on major markets, including the United Kingdom, Spain, Italy and France.

The brands’ January–September sales reached 587,846 units, underscoring their rapid international expansion and growing competitiveness in the global automotive industry.

The United Kingdom emerged as a major growth engine, recording 22,296 registrations in September, a 106 per cent year-on-year increase. The performance secured the brands a 6.37 per cent market share and second position among automotive brands in the country for the month.

Leading the charge was the Jaecoo 7, which recorded 10,813 UK registrations in September to become the country’s best-selling new-car model for the month. Its registrations for the first nine months of 2026 reached 39,473 units.

Beyond sales, Omoda & Jaecoo are deepening their British commitment with plans to establish a research and development centre at UTAC Millbrook in Bedfordshire. The facility will focus on key technologies, including chassis tuning and advanced driver-assistance systems, strengthening the brands’ ability to tailor vehicles to European driving conditions.

Spain also delivered impressive results, with September registrations climbing 91.5 per cent year-on-year to 4,010 units. The surge lifted the brands’ market share to a record 4.3 per cent, while electrified vehicles accounted for 98 per cent of their Spanish sales.

Italy recorded 4,678 registrations in September, translating into a 3.31 per cent market share. Cumulative registrations for January to September rose by 256.23 per cent to 32,945 units, highlighting the brands’ accelerating penetration of the Italian market.

France is emerging as another promising battleground. Combined September registrations reached 3,003 units, with Jaecoo contributing 2,589 units barely six months after entering the market.

The brands’ European offensive is being reinforced by the growing global appetite for new-energy vehicles (NEVs). Their NEV sales jumped 184 per cent year-on-year to 53,957 units in September, accounting for approximately 73.5 per cent of total monthly sales.

With rising registrations across key European markets, a bestselling model in Britain and electrified vehicles driving much of their global growth, Omoda & Jaecoo are rapidly expanding their international footprint and intensifying competition in Europe’s increasingly electrified automotive market.
