Nigeria’s transport titan, Frank Nneji, has clinched a major transport and logistics honour in recognition of decades of industry-shaping innovation.
The recognition was conferred at the 10th anniversary celebration of City Business News Online in Lagos, an event that doubled as a gathering of heavyweights across Nigeria’s maritime, logistics, banking, energy and capital market sectors.
In a moment that underscored Nneji’s enduring influence, the award was presented by Boboye Oyeyemi, who hailed the ABC Transport founder as a relentless innovator whose ideas have redefined intercity travel in Nigeria.
For over 30 years, Nneji has led a quiet revolution, transforming what began as a modest transport outfit into a regional powerhouse. Today, ABC Transport Plc operates across more than 100 locations spanning Nigeria and West Africa, moving thousands daily while setting benchmarks in safety, comfort and operational discipline.
But beyond passenger transport, Nneji’s ambitions have stretched into industrial territory. Through TSS Motors, he has pushed Nigeria deeper into vehicle assembly, rolling out FORLAND vehicles, TSS trailers and SHACMAN trucks from Enugu—fueling local content, job creation and the country’s automotive aspirations.
In a historic first, ABC Transport also broke barriers as the earliest transport company to list on the Nigerian Stock Exchange, opening the sector to investors and building a shareholder base now exceeding 22,000.
Industry insiders say Nneji didn’t just build a company, he built a standard. From structured fleet management to professionalised service delivery, his imprint is visible across Nigeria’s modern transport ecosystem.
A graduate of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, with executive training from Lagos Business School and Wharton, Nneji has combined academic depth with entrepreneurial grit. His influence has also extended into policy circles, including service on the board of the Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA) and contributions to regional road safety initiatives.
At the Lagos ceremony, stakeholders described him as a visionary whose investments have not only moved people, but also connected economies, boosted trade and redefined mobility across West Africa.
For organisers, the honour goes beyond celebration; it is a recognition of a man whose legacy continues to steer the future of transportation and logistics in Nigeria.
