The National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC) has fired a bold shot across the bow of Nigeria’s public service landscape with the official launch of its Service Charter, a move widely seen as a turning point for transparency, efficiency and customer-focused governance in the automotive sector.

Unveiled on February 6, 2026, the Charter sets clear service standards, timelines, quality benchmarks and feedback mechanisms, spelling out exactly what manufacturers, investors, institutions and the general public should expect from the Council and when. It also reinforces NADDC’s alignment with the Federal Government’s sweeping public service reform agenda.

Anchored on SERVICOM principles and implemented under the supervision of the SERVICOM Office, the Charter is designed to entrench a performance-driven culture that puts stakeholders at the centre of NADDC’s operations.

Speaking at the launch, Director-General of NADDC, OtunbaOluwemimo Joseph Osanipin, described the Charter as a reaffirmation of the Council’s mission to drive the growth and sustainable development of Nigeria’s automotive industry through responsive service delivery and impactful programmes. He applauded the commitment of NADDC staff, the parent Ministry and the SERVICOM Office in bringing the initiative to life.

Also lending weight to the milestone, Director-General of the Bureau of Public Service Reforms (BPSR), Dr Dasuki Arabi, hailed the Service Charter as a transformative document that strengthens fairness, accountability and measurable performance across the Council’s operations.

The event drew key stakeholders, including representatives of the Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment (FMITI), as well as the National Coordinator of SERVICOM, Mrs Helen Lawal, underscoring the significance of the Charter as a new benchmark for service excellence in Nigeria’s automotive ecosystem.
