Nigeria’s heavy-duty truck market has a bold new contender. Versat Automobile Limited has officially stormed the automotive landscape with the launch of C&C Trucks, signaling a major shake-up in commercial transportation for logistics, construction, mining and infrastructure players across the country.
Founded in 2024, Versat Automobile Limited is stepping into the market with an unapologetically clear mission: to deliver rugged, high-performance trucks engineered for Nigeria’s harsh operating realities, backed by strong local support and long-term value for businesses that keep the economy moving.
That ambition took physical form on Friday, February 6, 2026, with the formal unveiling of the C&C Trucks range in Nigeria, the first decisive move in the company’s plan to establish a commanding presence in the heavy-duty segment.
Speaking on the launch, Alhaji Francis Ogboro, Chairman, Versat Automobile Limited described his company’s entry into the Nigerian market as the beginning of a long-term commitment to supporting businesses with dependable, high-performance commercial vehicles.
“These trucks,” he pointed out, “are built for Nigeria, supported locally, and designed to create sustainable value for our customers.”
At the heart of the launch is the C&C Model U400 6×4, available in Tractor, Dump Truck and Chassis variants, a workhorse engineered to thrive under extreme loads and brutal terrain. Powered by a 400HP engine delivering up to 1,800Nm of torque, the U400 6×4 promises relentless pulling power and consistent performance where it matters most.
Built on a high-strength steel chassis with reinforced components, robust axles and enhanced cooling systems, the truck combines durability with smart efficiency. Advanced combustion technology and a high-efficiency turbocharger help optimise fuel use, cutting operating costs and improving return on investment for fleet owners. With excellent ground clearance and massive load-bearing capacity, the U400 is equally at home on highways, construction sites and off-road routes.
But Versat’s pitch goes beyond horsepower and steel. Central to its market strategy is a strong after-sales backbone, featuring a growing nationwide service network, readily available genuine spare parts, factory-trained technicians and structured maintenance programmes-all designed to slash downtime and keep fleets productive.
The C&C Truck range is delivered through a strategic partnership with C&C Trucks, a globally experienced commercial vehicle manufacturer with a proven heavy-duty pedigree.
“This collaboration allows us to deliver globally proven truck technology adapted to local operating needs,” said Mr Jin Haibo, a representative of C&C Trucks. “Together, we aim to provide customers with trucks they can rely on for performance, uptime and profitability.”
Backed by investors and professionals with a combined 187+ years of automotive industry experience, Versat Automobile Limited is positioning itself not just as another entrant, but as a serious long-term player determined to redefine value, reliability and support in Nigeria’s heavy-duty truck market.
With C&C Trucks now officially on Nigerian roads, the message is loud and clear: Versat has arrived and it means business.
