Kia PV5 Wins Autocar’s Top Large Car Crown

Kia’s bold push into the future of mobility has scored another major victory as the all-electric Kia PV5 Passenger was crowned ‘Best Large Car’ at the 2026 Autocar Awards, reinforcing its growing reputation as one of the most innovative family and commercial vehicles on the market.

The award signals a significant breakthrough for Kia’s new-generation Platform Beyond Vehicle (PBV) strategy, with the PV5 earning praise for redefining what buyers can expect from a large electric people mover.

Autocar judges hailed the PV5 Passenger for its futuristic design, intelligent packaging, impressive driving dynamics and exceptional value, describing it as one of the smartest and most imaginative electric mobility solutions available today.

Built on Kia’s dedicated E-GMP.S electric platform, the PV5 combines the practicality of an MPV with the versatility of a commercial vehicle. Available in five-seat and seven-seat configurations, with wheelchair-accessible versions also planned, the model is designed to serve families, businesses and specialized transport operators alike.

“This award is a strong endorsement of Kia’s vision to transform mobility through flexible, customer-focused electric vehicles,” said Sang Dae Kim, Executive Vice President and Head of Kia’s PBV Division.

Autocar Editor Mark Tisshaw described the PV5 as “wonderfully progressive” and “outstanding value for money,” predicting it could become one of the most compelling large family EVs for years to come.

The latest honour adds to a growing list of accolades for the PV5, which was recently named the 2026 International Van of the Year and also secured Family Car of the Year at the BBC TopGear.com Awards.

With its expanding range of passenger, cargo and conversion variants, the Kia PV5 is rapidly emerging as a game-changing force in the global electric vehicle market.
