The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has been plunged into mourning following the death of former Corps Marshal, Dauda Ali Biu, with incumbent Corps Marshal, Shehu Mohammed, describing his passing as a painful loss to the agency and Nigeria’s road safety community.
In a condolence message, Mohammed said Biu’s death marked the loss of a veteran road safety administrator whose decades of service helped shape the development of the FRSC and strengthen road safety management in Nigeria.
Biu, who served as the FRSC’s seventh substantive Corps Marshal from July 2022 to May 2024, joined the agency in its formative years and rose through the ranks through discipline, dedication and commitment to public service.
Mohammed praised the late administrator’s contributions to institutional development, operational effectiveness and the protection of lives on Nigerian roads, noting that his legacy would continue to inspire serving officers.
“His passing is therefore not merely the loss of a former leader; it is the loss of a colleague, a seasoned professional and a compatriot who devoted a significant part of his life to the service of humanity and the safety of Nigerians,” Mohammed said.
He added that Biu’s leadership reflected a determination to strengthen the corps’ operational capacity and fulfil its statutory responsibilities.
On behalf of the FRSC management and workforce, Mohammed extended condolences to the deceased’s immediate family, friends, associates and all those touched by his life and service.
He also prayed for Almighty Allah to forgive Biu’s shortcomings and grant him Aljannah (Paradise).
“Rest in peace, Dauda Ali Biu. Your service to the nation will not be forgotten,” the Corps Marshal declared.
Biu’s death represents a significant loss to the FRSC and Nigeria’s wider road safety community, where his contributions to public service and the protection of lives on the nation’s highways remain part of the agency’s institutional history.
