Nigeria’s automotive retail landscape has taken a dramatic digital turn as Mikano Motors seals a high-impact strategic alliance with Autochek Africa to unlock near-instant vehicle financing and revolutionize how Nigerians buy brand-new cars.
The partnership was formally unveiled on Friday, February 27, 2026, at the Mikano Motors showroom, 65 Adeola Odeku, Victoria Island, Lagos, marking what industry observers describe as one of the boldest digital financing integrations in Nigeria’s auto sector.
Effective immediately, customers can explore the entire Mikano Motors portfolio, including globally recognised brands such as Changan, Deepal and Maxus via a dedicated Mikano Motors Virtual Showroom hosted on the Autochek platform.
From a single digital interface, buyers can compare models side-by-side, apply for structured automotive loans, select flexible repayment plans and receive conditional credit decisions in as little as 30 seconds, completing critical stages of the purchase journey without stepping into a physical dealership.
For Mikano Motors, the collaboration reinforces its long-standing commitment to delivering more than just vehicles.
“Our focus has always been on delivering not just new vehicles, but a complete ownership journey,” said Joelle Haykal, Group Executive Director of Mikano Motors. “That includes up to six years’ warranty or 200,000 kilometres, nationwide aftersales support, and the confidence that comes from a 33-year legacy of trust.
“Our vehicles are engineered for Nigerian roads, built for durability and performance. This partnership allows us to combine premium mobility with smart financing solutions, giving customers greater flexibility, confidence and control over how they own a vehicle.”
For Autochek Africa, the partnership deepens its OEM collaboration strategy while expanding access to its embedded financing infrastructure across Nigeria.
“The demand for vehicles in Nigeria has never been the issue – access to financing has,” said Etop Ikpe, Chief Executive Officer of Autochek Africa. “By combining Mikano’s premium portfolio with our embedded financing technology, we are connecting customers to multiple banking partners with fast approvals, enabling more Nigerians to own brand-new cars with confidence.”

Autochek currently partners with about 21 financial institutions, providing funding options tailored to varying income categories and financial profiles.
To access the platform, customers log in using their BVN and NIN, either online or at the showroom. Salary earners declare income and average expenses and upload required documents such as bank statements, while business owners may submit CAC registration documents.
Autochek’s AI-driven credit engine analyses applications and delivers a conditional financing offer within 30 seconds, matching applicants with suitable financial institutions based on their risk profile.
After selecting a preferred offer, customers complete verification and receive a final contract clearly outlining repayment terms. Typically, buyers provide an equity contribution of about 30 percent of the vehicle value. Documentation can be executed digitally or physically.
In many cases, the entire process can be completed within hours, allowing customers to drive home in their new vehicle the same day.
The launch of the Mikano Motors Virtual Showroom signals a broader transformation in Nigeria’s automotive ecosystem. As consumer expectations shift toward digital-first transactions, the integration of showroom-grade experience with instant financing capability sets a new benchmark for the industry.
Together, Mikano Motors and Autochek Africa are redefining how vehicles are discovered, financed and owned in Nigeria, opening new possibilities for automotive commerce across the continent.
A division of Mikano International, Mikano Motors represent globally recognised automotive brands in Nigeria, including Changan, Deepal and Maxus. On the other hand, Autochek Africa is a leading pan-African automotive technology company transforming how vehicles are bought, sold and financed across the continent.
