Nigerian music icon and business mogul D’banj has once again raised the bar in celebrity luxury living after taking delivery of the newly unveiled Zeekr 9X, a cutting-edge hybrid super SUV valued at about ₦300 million.
The award-winning entertainer, born Oladapo Daniel Oyebanjo, became one of the first owners of the ultra-premium SUV in Nigeria and across Africa, cementing his reputation for an enviable collection of high-end automobiles.
The spectacular handover took place in Lagos on Friday during the official Nigerian unveiling of the Zeekr 9X, an event that also marked the grand opening of BBA Motors. At the ceremony, the company’s Chief Executive Officer, Rebecca Liyuanjia formally presented the luxury vehicle’s key to the music superstar before a gathering of invited guests, motoring journalists, automobile enthusiasts and industry stakeholders.
A Hybrid SUV Built for Nigeria
The Zeekr 9X represents the latest evolution in luxury automotive technology, blending electrification, power and intelligent driving systems.
For Nigeria’s unique driving environment, where infrastructure, long distances and unpredictable roads demand versatility, the SUV’s plug-in hybrid powertrain offers a major advantage. The system combines electric propulsion with a petrol engine, allowing drivers to seamlessly switch to fuel when battery charge runs low.
With a combined driving range of about 1,000 kilometres, the vehicle is engineered for both city cruising and long inter-state journeys.

The Zeekr 9X can travel up to 380 kilometres purely on electric power, making it ideal for daily commuting in major Nigerian cities such as Lagos, Abuja and Port Harcourt.

To handle Nigeria’s often challenging road conditions, the SUV is equipped with dual-chamber intelligent air suspension and active roll control, delivering enhanced stability and ride comfort.

Supercar-Level Performance
Despite its luxury size, the Zeekr 9X delivers over 1,000 kW of power in some variants, accelerating from 0–100 km/h in about 3.1 seconds, performance figures that rival many sports cars.

The SUV also features the Haohan Safety Armor protection system, including crosswind stabilization, automatic obstacle avoidance and enhanced crash protection.
Complementing this is Level-3 autonomous driving capability, powered by advanced LiDAR sensors and AI processors that enable lane-keeping, adaptive cruise control and automated highway driving assistance.
Executive-Class Luxury Cabin
Inside, the vehicle offers a three-row, six-seat executive cabin equipped with premium seating, a massive 17-inch OLED display and a 3,800-watt Naim audio system.
