Coscharis, Asia Star Power Nigeria’s EV Push with Bold Alliance

Nigeria’s electric mobility race just got a serious boost as Coscharis Motors and Chinese EV bus giant Asia Star tighten a fast-rising partnership aimed at electrifying the nation’s transport future.

Fresh off the successful rollout of electric buses in Abia State, Asia Star’s top executives stormed Lagos for a high-stakes working visit, signaling that this is no routine collaboration, but a calculated move to dominate Nigeria’s emerging EV space.

Inside Coscharis’ expansive facilities, the message was unmistakable: scale, structure, and serious intent. From state-of-the-art showrooms to fully equipped aftersales workshops and a modern assembly plant, the Nigerian auto powerhouse laid out its full arsenal.

Welcoming the delegation, Sales and Aftersales Director Ufuoma Umukoro described the visit as a defining moment in aligning both companies’ ambitions. The goal: deliver high-quality electric vehicles tailored for Nigeria while pushing the boundaries of innovation and service delivery.

For Asia Star, the verdict came quickly and loudly.

Business Manager for Africa and the Pacific Region, Will Shi, did not hold back in praising Coscharis’ infrastructure and investment depth, declaring the company the “right partner” to drive its Nigerian ambitions. The confidence signals a partnership built not just on promise, but on proven capacity.

Behind the scenes, both sides are already fine-tuning performance. Technical teams reviewed early feedback from the Abia deployment, focusing on efficiency, reliability, and customer satisfaction, key ingredients for scaling EV adoption nationwide.

The bigger picture is clear: this alliance is not just about buses; it is about reshaping Nigeria’s mobility ecosystem. With sustainability now a global imperative, Coscharis and Asia Star are positioning themselves at the forefront of a transport revolution that could redefine how Nigerians move.

As momentum builds, one thing is certain: Nigeria’s electric future is no longer a distant vision. It’s already hitting the roads.
