Automobile Festival Kicks off at LTV, Lagos

…Attracts Over 3000 Mechanics, Motorists, Women Trainees

[dropcap]P[/dropcap]remises of Lagos State television located at Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos is expected to, from today(Monday, 29th September), host thousands of visitors, and lovers, buyers, sellers and assemblers of automobiles and related products, as first ever Motor show to hold in Lagos Mainland kicks off.

The event tagged Automedics Auto-Fest is being organized by Automedics Limited in collaboration with Lagos Television (LTV).

Given the venue’s proximity to the biggest shopping Mall in the mainland as well as Lagos State seat of power, organizers of the event expect it to draw more visitors than similar shows managed to attract in the past.

According to Mr. Felix Adesoye, the Event’s Manager, in an interview with Motoring World last week, aside auto lovers, fleet operators, auto enthusiast and members of the public to attend the show, over 2000 Motor Mechanics and Technicians drawn from two major relevant trade associations in the country, had been registered to not only attend the event but also receive free training that would prepare them professionally for the future challenges of the federal government’s automobile policy and the on-going revival of the nation’s auto industry.

Mr. Adesoye said: “The show’s maiden edition promises to be fun-filled and classy one, as the number of registered participants for free trainings and seminars keeps growing daily. As at last count, over 300 ladies, 200 fleet managers, 200 motorists and 2000 mechanics had registered to be at the event.

A special event is also designed to cater for the very busy executives to hang out with their favourite celebrities in the evening of every day at our ‘funky car wash event’ from 6pm within the LTV complex.”

Other daily side attractions targeted at the family includes Go-kart racing and competition between adults and children, power bike demonstrations from Biker’s Associations in Lagos State, Kiddies arena, and funky car cleaning during celebrity hang-out in the evenings

The annual event is expected to become a meeting platform for auto lovers, buyers and sellers to transact mutually beneficial businesses, interact and exchange ideas on desired vehicle models, needed genuine parts, accessories and favourite lubricants.

Picture1Automobile and allied industry players expected to showcase their products/services at the maiden of the annual event include Elizade Autoland, Suzuki (C&I Leasing), KIA Motors, Truckmasters (representing Hyundai), Coscharis Motors, Kojo Motors, Autodex, Oando Marketing and a host of lubricants and accessories distributors.

Meanwhile, as revealed by the organizers, His Excellency, Governor Akinwunmi Ambode is expected to declare the event open, “while the Director General of National Automotive Design and Development Council Engr. Aminu Jalal will present an address.”
