It was a night of glamour, gratitude and grand rewards as Toyota Nigeria Limited celebrated 30 years of automotive excellence, rolling out the red carpet for customers, dealers, journalists and business partners who have contributed to its remarkable journey.

The anniversary celebration, which attracted key players in the nation’s automotive sector, became more than a birthday party. It was a powerful statement of appreciation, with loyal customers, outstanding journalists, distributors and employees walking away with prestigious awards and valuable gifts.

Addressing guests at the colourful event, the Managing Director of Toyota Nigeria described the company’s 30th anniversary as a landmark achievement that reflects decades of resilience, growth and unwavering commitment to customer satisfaction.

According to him, Toyota Nigeria has transformed from humble beginnings into one of the country’s most respected automotive brands, setting industry standards in quality, reliability and after-sales service.

“Our journey has been defined by resilience, growth and transformation. From modest beginnings, we have evolved into a key player in the automotive industry, consistently setting benchmarks in quality, reliability and service excellence,” he said.

He noted that Toyota’s success over the years has been driven by a deliberate focus on creating value for customers, backed by a nationwide after-sales support network designed to deliver peace of mind and a premium ownership experience.

The Managing Director assured stakeholders that Toyota would continue to embrace innovation and maintain its customer-first philosophy while strengthening its leadership position in Nigeria’s automotive market.

He paid glowing tribute to the company’s customers, dealers, employees, business partners and parent company, Toyota Motor Corporation, describing them as the pillars behind the company’s three decades of success.

“The journey of the past 30 years would not have been possible without the unwavering support and contributions of our valued stakeholders. The success we celebrate today is shared, and the future we envision will be built together,” he stated.

Special appreciation was also extended to the Board of Directors led by Chairman, Chief Michael Ade-Ojo, OON, whose leadership and strategic direction, he said, have been instrumental in the company’s growth story.

The high point of the evening came with the presentation of awards to deserving stakeholders whose contributions have helped shape Toyota Nigeria’s success.

In the fiercely contested Journalism Category, Rasheed Bisiriyu of NewsTrend emerged second runner-up, while motoring journalist Mike Ochonma of Transport World claimed first runner-up position. Theodore Opara, Motoring Editor of Vanguard Newspapers, clinched the top prize to loud applause from guests.

The Customer Category produced equally exciting moments. Zenith Bank Plc was named second runner-up, while the Nigerian Army secured first runner-up position. AGL Motors emerged overall winner and received equipment worth N10 million.

But perhaps the biggest surprise of the night was reserved for Zenith Bank. In recognition of its long-standing loyalty and enduring partnership with Toyota Nigeria, the financial institution was presented with a brand-new Toyota Starlet, drawing cheers from the audience.

Looking ahead, the Managing Director reaffirmed Toyota Nigeria’s commitment to innovation, sustainability and value creation, pledging that the company would continue to raise industry standards and enrich lives through mobility solutions built on Toyota’s globally acclaimed values of quality, durability, reliability and customer satisfaction.

As the curtains fell on the memorable celebration, one message rang loud and clear: after 30 years of success, Toyota Nigeria is not merely looking back at its achievements. It is accelerating confidently into the future.
