R.T. Briscoe Plc is set to celebrate its 70th anniversary in March 2027, the company’s Deputy Managing Director, Dr. Femi Eguaikhide, has disclosed to Motoring World.
Eguaikhide, who is also the Chairman of the committee planning the landmark anniversary, disclosed the milestone as the company prepares to commemorate seven decades of operations in Nigeria.
The milestone will mark a significant chapter in the history of R.T. Briscoe, one of Nigeria’s long-established business organisations, which has maintained a longstanding presence in the country’s automotive and business sectors.
Established in 1957, the company has operated through decades of major changes in Nigeria’s economy, automotive industry and mobility landscape.
Its forthcoming 70th anniversary comes at a time when Nigeria’s automotive sector is undergoing significant transformation, with changing consumer preferences, vehicle affordability challenges, technological developments and evolving mobility needs reshaping the industry.
For R.T. Briscoe, the landmark anniversary provides an opportunity to reflect on seven decades of corporate existence while looking ahead to the future.
R.T. Briscoe also has a notable place in Motoring World’s own history, having been among the distinguished organisations honoured during the magazine’s 30th-anniversary celebration in Lagos, where it received the Automotive Institutional Excellence Award.
With preparations for the 70th anniversary expected to gather momentum under the committee headed by Eguaikhide, details of the celebration programme are yet to be announced.
The milestone is nevertheless expected to generate considerable interest among stakeholders in Nigeria’s automotive and business communities, given R.T. Briscoe’s long presence in the country’s corporate and motoring landscape.
