Peugeot is turning up the heat in Nigeria’s premium SUV market with the arrival of the 2026 Peugeot 3008 and 5008, unveiled at the Dangote Peugeot Automobile Nigeria Limited (DPAN) plant in Kaduna.
The latest models represent a major statement from Peugeot and DPAN as the company expands its range with two SUVs designed to combine striking styling, modern technology and premium comfort.
The unveiling also puts the spotlight on DPAN’s ambition to strengthen local vehicle assembly while bringing newer Peugeot products to Nigerian motorists.
The Peugeot 3008 arrives as a bold, contemporary SUV aimed at buyers seeking a distinctive blend of style, technology and everyday practicality. Its larger sibling, the 5008, takes the formula further with greater space and versatility, making it particularly attractive to families and executive users looking for a premium SUV with room to spare.
Their arrival signals Peugeot’s determination to remain a major player in Nigeria’s increasingly competitive SUV market, where buyers are demanding more technology, comfort, safety and sophistication from their vehicles.
For DPAN, the introduction is equally significant. The company is using its Kaduna manufacturing base to deepen its contribution to Nigeria’s automotive industry and demonstrate the potential of locally assembled Peugeot vehicles.
The unveiling received a major boost from Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, who visited the DPAN facility and described the company’s continued investment in innovation and local manufacturing as important to Nigeria’s industrial development.
Sani pledged to support DPAN’s operations, including handing over the official land title documents to the company. He also promised to engage other state governors to encourage broader government support and patronage for DPAN and its products.
With the 3008 and 5008 now taking the Peugeot name into a new generation of SUV design and technology, DPAN is betting that fresh products, local assembly and stronger government backing can give the Peugeot brand a powerful new push in Nigeria.
