NADDC Champions Engineering Innovation as 15 Universities Get MIDAS Software Boost

In a major push to strengthen engineering education in Nigeria, the National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC) has joined forces with the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) and MIDAS IT to equip fifteen universities with advanced MIDAS Engineering Software. The official handover took place on November 5, 2025, at the NSE Headquarters in Abuja.

Speaking at the event, NADDC Director-General, Chief (Otunba) Oluwemimo Joseph Osanipin, hailed the initiative as a visionary collaboration that promises to revolutionize the way engineering is taught and practiced across the country.

“This isn’t just a software donation—it’s an investment in the future,” Osanipin said. “It bridges the gap between classroom learning and real-world engineering innovation.”

He reaffirmed the Council’s commitment to fostering research and technological advancement, noting that three of NADDC’s four Electric Vehicle Charging Stations are located within Nigerian universities—University of Lagos, University of Nigeria Nsukka, and Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto. According to him, these facilities are designed to drive innovation, research, and capacity building among young engineers.

The NADDC boss congratulated the NSE, led by its president Engr. Margaret Aina Oguntala, FNSE, and MIDAS IT for what he described as “a remarkable milestone in Nigeria’s journey toward technological excellence and sustainable development.”
