Ghana Nabs Nigerian Fugitive Accused of Killing FRSC Officer, Daughter

The Ghana Police Service has arrested Victor Benjamin Fajemirokun, a Nigerian national wanted for the alleged killing of Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) officer, Lasisi Funmilayo, and her daughter, Sewa, in Ogun State.

Eastern South Regional Police Commander, George Ohene-Boadi, confirmed the arrest at a press briefing. He said the 36-year-old suspect fled Nigeria to evade arrest after the crime.

Ohene-Boadi explained that police acted after intercepting an online video alleging that Fajemirokun abducted and murdered the victims in Abeokuta.

“The suspect was wanted by the Nigerian police, but he ran to Ghana to hide with his friends,” he said.

Police intelligence later traced him to Akutia in Ghana’s Eastern Region, where an intelligence-led operation resulted in his capture.

Ghanaian authorities have begun processes for further investigation and possible extradition to Nigeria for prosecution.
