Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Shehu Mohammed, has been honoured with the BusinessDay Excellence in Public Service Award, a recognition that underscores his sweeping reforms and transformative leadership in Nigeria’s road safety sector.
The award—presented during the 2025 Public Service Lecture Series and Excellence Awards for Ministries, Departments, and Parastatals—celebrates Mohammed’s push for a modernised, tech-driven, and more efficient FRSC. His tenure has accelerated digital security upgrades, tightened operational standards, and reinforced nationwide safety campaigns, marking one of the agency’s most ambitious reform eras in recent years.
Receiving the honour on his behalf was the Deputy Corps Marshal in charge of Training, DCM Abiodun Akinlade.
Held in Abuja, the high-profile ceremony was chaired by former President Goodluck Jonathan, GCFR, represented by former Senate President Anyim Pius Anyim. The event also brought together the Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Minister of Information and National Orientation, and several heads of MDAs, all recognised for exceptional public service delivery.
The award cements Mohammed’s reputation as a results-focused reformer steering the FRSC toward a more responsive and technologically advanced future.
