Oyeyemi to Chair Motoring World @ 30, Osanipin Delivers Keynote on Motoring Media & Auto Industry Growth

Lagos is set for a major gathering of Nigeria’s automotive powerbrokers, policymakers, manufacturers and mobility stakeholders as Motoring World celebrates its 30th Anniversary in grand style on June 4, 2026, at the prestigious MUSON Centre, Onikan.

In what promises to be one of the biggest automotive industry gatherings of the year, former Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps and President/Chairman of Council of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) Nigeria, Dr. Boboye Olayemi Oyeyemi, will chair the landmark celebration.

Adding further prestige to the event, the Director-General of the National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC), Oluwemimo Joseph Osanipin, a special guest of honour at the event, will deliver the keynote address titled: “Motoring Media as a Catalyst for Automotive Industry Growth in Nigeria.”

The celebration is expected to attract an impressive array of top government officials, captains of industry, transport operators, diplomats, investors, auto manufacturers and key players within Nigeria’s  automotive and mobility ecosystem.

Speaking ahead of the event, Publisher/Editor-in-Chief of Motoring World Magazine, Femi Owoeye, described Dr. Oyeyemi as one of the most influential personalities in Nigeria’s transport and mobility history.

“Dr. Boboye Oyeyemi’s tenure at the FRSC changed the face of road safety administration in Nigeria. His reforms in vehicle documentation, driver’s licence administration, enforcement operations and institutional development remain some of the most impactful in the country’s transport sector,” Owoeye stated.

He also praised Osanipin for bringing renewed energy and stronger industry engagement to Nigeria’s automotive development agenda.

“Under Osanipin’s leadership, NADDC has intensified advocacy for local vehicle manufacturing, automotive component development, cleaner mobility initiatives and technical capacity building. There is no doubt that the Council is playing an increasingly strategic role in shaping the future of Nigeria’s automotive industry,” he added.

The keynote presentation is expected to trigger important conversations around the influence of specialized motoring media in promoting local manufacturing, shaping policy direction, driving consumer awareness and accelerating automotive industry growth in Nigeria.

The anniversary celebration will also witness the conferment of special honours on distinguished personalities, government institutions and corporate organisations that have contributed immensely to the development of Nigeria’s automotive industry over the past three decades.

Founded on June 12, 1996, as a syndicated radio motoring programme aired on OGBC 2-FM Abeokuta and Radio Rivers Port Harcourt before evolving into a multi-platform automotive publication, Motoring World has remained one of Nigeria’s most influential voices in automotive journalism, mobility advocacy and industry development.

The celebration will also feature strategic industry discussions, networking sessions and the unveiling of a special commemorative edition dedicated to the history, milestones and future of Nigeria’s automotive industry.
