Coscharis Holds Night of Tributes for its late Vice President

It was a torrent of eulogies as Coscharis Group held a night of tributes for its departed Vice President, late Mrs. Charity Maduka.

The event, which took place at Queens Park Event Center on Water Corporation Drive, Oniru, Victoria Island, was well attended by dignitaries from all walks of life, stakeholders from the auto industry and the media.

The late Mrs. Maduka’s burial, a weeklong event, started on Monday January 3 with a night of tributes, followed by a Farewell Service on Tuesday at Local Christian Assembly, Lagos. There shall be Service of Songs on Thursday at the Maduka’s residence, Coscharis street, Umudimkwa, Umudim, Nnewi, Anambra State, Funeral Service on Friday at the Maduka’s residence in Nnewi and finally a Memorial Service at Headstone Charity Tabernacle, Nnewi, Anambra State.

The late Mrs. Maduka who died on November 26, 2021, decided to go into business with her husband in 1984 after he had a couple of unsuccessful partnerships. They founded a company called Coscharis coined from syllables in each of their two names, Cosmas and Charity. The husband became the President while she took the role of Vice President.

In the very early days of the company, she was the receptionist, the secretary, the accountant, the storekeeper and also served as the Head of recruitment and training.

As Coscharis grew, she continued to contribute immensely to the growth of the company, overseeing and directing several back-office teams. For two decades, she spearheaded the Administrative, Legal, Work/Maintenance and Export teams of the organization.

In 2005, she became the Executive Chairman/COO of two Coscharis subsidiaries, Coscharis Beverages and Coscharis Properties respectively, positions she held until her untimely departure.

She is survived by five children and her husband.
