Auto Display Ignites Excitement at Nigeria Auto Industry Summit…Also See Photos

The future of mobility came alive at the 3rd Nigeria Auto Industry Summit as delegates paused conference proceedings to inspect an impressive display of electric and conventional vehicles, bringing innovation within touching distance. FEMI OWOEYE reports.

For a few moments, the spotlight shifted from the podium to the exhibition arena.

Midway through the 3rd Nigeria Auto Industry Summit (NAISU) 2026, delegates stepped out of the conference hall to inspect a mini vehicle exhibition by Mikano Motors, Carloha Nigeria and Cedric Motors. The exhibition transformed policy discussions into a hands-on experience, giving participants a close look at some of the latest vehicles and technologies shaping Nigeria’s automotive landscape.

Leading the inspection were the Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Shehu Mohammed, and NADDC’s Director of Public Relations, Mrs. Susan Taiwo, representing the Director-General of the National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC), Otunba Oluwemimo Joseph Osanipin. They were joined by other dignitaries, industry executives and motoring journalists.

Questions flew. Cameras clicked. Technical experts demonstrated features. Delegates compared notes. By the time the inspection ended and participants returned to the conference hall for the remaining presentations, the exhibition had vividly brought the summit’s clean mobility theme to life.

Mikano Motors presented the Deepal G318, a Range Extended Electric Vehicle (REEV) SUV that combines rugged capability with advanced electrified technology.

Finished in striking black and displayed on an elevated rock platform, the G318 projected confidence with its muscular styling, high ground clearance and bold front fascia. Its adventure-inspired design immediately drew attention, while a display board boldly proclaiming “Peace of Mind,” “REEV” and “Up to 1,000 km Range” highlighted one of its biggest attractions—long-distance driving with minimal range anxiety.

Inside, the SUV impressed with premium brown leather upholstery, a spacious cabin, a minimalist dashboard and a large digital touchscreen that reflected the latest in automotive technology.

As delegates inspected the vehicle, Mikano officials explained its intelligent systems, advanced safety features and the advantages of range-extender technology for motorists seeking both efficiency and extended driving capability.

Part of the vehicle exhibition at the 3rd Nigeria Auto Industry Summit (NAISU) 2026, where Mikano Motors, Cedric Motors and Carloha Nigeria showcased some of their latest models.

Carloha Nigeria showcased Chery’s iCAUR V23, an all-electric SUV that demonstrated how bold styling and intelligent technology are redefining electric mobility.

Its boxy profile, upright stance and distinctive design gave the V23 a commanding presence, attracting delegates eager to explore one of the latest additions to Nigeria’s growing electric vehicle market.

Visitors examined its digital cockpit, premium interior finishes and advanced connectivity features while learning about its fully electric drivetrain, smart technologies and modern safety systems.

The iCAUR V23 reinforced the growing diversity of electric mobility solutions becoming available to Nigerian motorists.

Cedric Motors Highlights Commercial Strength

Complementing the electrified vehicles was the JIM Re-Max pickup, exhibited by Cedric Motors.

Powered by efficient diesel and petrol turbocharged engines, the pickup demonstrated that conventional commercial vehicles continue to evolve with improved engineering, comfort and technology.

Displayed in both white and black finishes, the Re-Max featured a rugged exterior, spacious cargo bed and comfortable cabin that attracted the attention of government officials and other dignitories.

Its presence reflected the realities of Nigeria’s automotive market. While electric mobility is steadily gathering momentum, dependable internal combustion-engine vehicles remain indispensable to agriculture, construction, logistics, security and other critical sectors of the economy.

Innovation Beyond the Podium

The exhibition added a practical dimension to the summit’s discussions on clean mobility.

Instead of merely listening to presentations, delegates had the opportunity to see, inspect and better understand the technologies shaping the industry’s future. Exhibitors engaged visitors in lively conversations on electric propulsion, range-extender technology, intelligent vehicle systems and the evolution of modern commercial vehicles.

By bringing together innovative electric vehicles and advanced conventional models in one exhibition, Mikano Motors, Carloha Nigeria and Cedric Motors reinforced a central message of the summit. That Nigeria’s automotive future will be driven by innovation, investment and a gradual transition that embraces both emerging and established vehicle technologies.
