Kano State Governor Flags-Off 70km Road Construction in Communities

The Kano State Governor in North West Nigeria, Abba Kabir Yusuf has flagged-off 70 kilometre roads projects in 10 Communities of the three Senatorial districts of the state.

The Governor performed the flag-off at Rijiyar Gwangwan and Mil Goma in Dawakin Kudu Local Government area of Kano state.

The road projects are going to be executed in partnership with Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) and Lives & Livelihood Fund (LLF) through the Kano State Agro-pastoral Development Project(KSADP) under Kano State Agricultural and Rural Development Authority (KNARDA).

Governor Yusuf said; “his administration is determined to executive life changing infrastructural development projects for rural communities in Kano state.”

He explained that a total of over 11 billion Naira was earmarked for the 70 kilometre rural access roads and road networks in semi-urban areas.

The Governor said, “In Dawakin Kudu where today’s flag-off took place, 7.2km rural access road for Mil Goma to Yankatsari and 7.5km Rijiyar Gwangwan road networks respectively are expected to cost two billion, six hundred million naira (N2.6b) only.”

Governor Yusuf thanked the Islamic Development Bank, IDB, and the Lives and Livelihoods Fund for supporting the state to achieve major milestones in rural and agricultural transformation, expressing the hope for the partnership to continue to wax stronger.

He said; “As we promised to work with all our friends, including the development partners, this day marks the fruition of another effort between these partners and Kano state government, to resolve some of the nail-biting problems facing the state.”
