BMW Car Club Holds Centenary Parade

[dropcap]B[/dropcap]MW Car Club Gauteng will host the Bridgestone Track Day at Red Star Raceway, on Saturday 20 August 2016.

This event which is proudly supported by Zambezi Auto BMW is in line with the centenary celebration of BMW.

According to the release sent to Motoring world international, the track will be closed between 11:00 and 13:00 for a parade of BMW cars and bikes.

The club also said that it has extended the invite to all BMW owners to join the parade, disclosing that there is no charge if signed up online before the event via www.BMWCarClub.co.za.

Participants are to come along with printed registration confirmation from 09:00, be sure to receive Centenary Parade sticker and join in the parade.

The club is also sounding it loud and clear that registering online is a must, alerting that participants who arrive without having registered online are likely to be turned away, especially if the parade ground was already filled up.

But, it however said that an alternative R50 late registration penalty has been arranged for participants who wish to join the parade, in case there is still space.

It could be recalled that back in 2013 the BMW club put 446 BMWs on Kyalami in a parade for a Guinness attempt and they are hoping to break that record at Red Star Raceway.

The time trials of the day are open to other vehicle brands which hold an MSA licence and are track-worthy, with Helmets.

The club said MSA licences for the event can be arranged ahead, as a real thrill, jump into the Bridgestone Hot Lap vehicle where for just R100; a professional driver can take participants for two flying laps around the 4km circuit.

Entry Fee is put at R950; and spectators’ entry to the circuit is free from 08:00.
