Carloha, the franchise holder of Chery vehicles in Nigeria has concluded a plan to build what it described as the largest CKD (Completely Knocked Down) auto assembly plant in the country.
The company’s Managing Director, Mr. Sola Adigun revealed this on Wednesday, February 19 while delivering his opening speech at the signing ceremony of the partnership deal between Carloha and the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).
According to him, the company has been allotted a land by the Lagos State Government to commence building of a CKD (Completely Knocked Down) auto assembly factory in the first quarter of 2026.
By implication, when this plan comes on stream, Carloha would have inched closer to full auto manufacturing in the country, as at that level, it could commence auto content de-listing (a process of reducing imported parts by adding available local content to its Nigeria made Chery automobile brand).
Chery Nigerian is a Nigerian Automobile Company resulting from the partnership between Carloha Nigeria Ltd and Chery Automobile Co., Ltd, China.
Over the past 20 years, Chery has always insisted independent innovation and R&D systems which have enabled Chery to successfully create product brands such as Arrizo, Tiggo, and high-end EXEED brand with cumulative global sales of more than 8.3 million units.
