Founder and CEO of the event’s organizing company, Mrs Tayo Afolabi, stated this during a media interactive session held at the Lekki-Lagos head office Weststar Associates Limited, Nigeria’s representative of Mercedes-Benz, on Friday, May 12th.

According to her, the choice of Mercedes-Benz came naturally, because, in her view, apart from luxury and sophistication, the German brand, goes naturally with beauty.

“We simply chose Mercedes-Benz, because it is a lifestyle brand,”Mrs Afolabi told journalists. “The Beauty Business Week was created as an avenue to profile the trends and stakeholders in the Beauty Industry and partnering with Mercedes Benz to execute same was perfect due to one of the Luxury car giant’s CSR aim to promote indigenous products/services in countries it has presence in.

“Of course, this is not the first time Mercedes-Benz would support this kind of venture. There have been series of international fashion weeks sponsored by Mercedes-Benz and produced by IMG, featuring world acclaimed designers such as Rosenthal Tee, etc.”

She said the event, which is scheduled to hold from the 17th – 19th May, 2017 at the Mercedes Benz Showroom in Lekki, Lagos State, is geared towards merging stakeholders and beauty trends in the beauty industry.

Also speaking at the occasion, Weststar’s General Manager, Legal/Compliance, Business and Network Development and Human Resources, Ebere Anenih, described Mercedes’ involvement as a way of furthering the brand’s social responsibility activities, one of which is “to render support to local brands.”

“During the three-day event,” she explained, “lovers of Mercedes range of luxurious and exotic vehicles will be opportune to shop for their cars and also have access to, enjoy and sample various exhibitors, who will be showcasing their products and services in the luxurious Mercedes Benz showroom.”

Aside various beauty-related exhibitors, including: Beauty Aficionadas, Beauty Stakeholders, Beauty Enthusiasts, Beauty Entrepreneurs, Cosmetologists, Dermatologists and all Lovers of Luxury and Class, the event is also expected to feature series of seminars and workshops, which, according to organizers, shall be hosted by renowned Kaylah Oniwo of Cool FM, a popular Nigerian radio station.
