[dropcap]M[/dropcap]y car is 2002 Volkswagen Touareg. I live in Ijebu-Ode in Ogun State. I travelled for an about four weeks and when I returned, I tried to start my car the following morning, but it rolled a bit and stopped rolling, in which I knew the battery might have gone flat.
I borrowed a neighbour’s battery to jump start it, but suddenly the car did not start, did not roll and there is no light on the dashboard. But the battery was ok, because when it was put back in the car it was taken from, it started the car, which is also a Jeep.
The problem happened just today, and I decided to contact you people before calling a rewire.
What could have gone wrong suddenly? Please I need you advice. I shall appreciate an advice by email for your advice about this problem. I am a regular reader and subscriber of motoring World. Thank you in advance.

[dropcap]T[/dropcap]hanks for your mail. From your vivid explanation, I recon the problem is simple. It is your fuse that needs looking at. When you started the car and the engine rolled a bit and stopped, your battery had apparently run down. But in the process of still trying to start the engine on a flat battery, the fuse got cut as a security measure.
A good rewire should be able to identify the particular fuse that needs changing. Once it is replaced, get a good battery to start your car, once your engine runs for about 5-10 minutes, remove the battery terminals carefully, replace the borrowed battery with yours, reconnect the terminals and allow the engine to run for some time, preferably, drive the car to cover a distance of about two miles to revive your battery.
