All is set for the 21st edition of the Abuja International Motor Fair with the Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Otunba Adeniyi Adebayo, leading other dignitaries from the public and private sectors to declare it open on Tuesday, November 16, 2021.
According to the event’s organizers, BKG Exhibitions Limited, the fair, which kicks off today (Monday November 15, 2021) at the International Conference Centre Annex, Area 10, Garki, Abuja, parade over 30 participants from Nigeria and abroad.
Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the fair, Mr. Ifeanyichukwu Agwu, also announced that Choice International Group (CIG) Motors, Nigeria’s authorized dealer and manufacturer of GAC brand of vehicles , is one of the official Sponsors of this year’s edition.
“GAC, since its entrance into the Nigerian market in 2014, has remained one of the most consistent participants at both the Abuja and Lagos motor fairs. For it to come out to be one of the official sponsors of this edition is an indication that CIG identifies strongly with what we are doing and sees the Nigerian market as very important to the global automotive business,” he said.
Agwu who is also the Managing Director of BKG Exhibitions Limited-Organizers of the fair noted that the presence of the minister as well as CIG Motors sponsorship would go a long way in reinforcing the aims and objectives of the show, which is the fast-tracking the development of the automotive sector in Nigeria.
He added that this would give the needed encouragement and boost to existing and potential investors in the industry.
He said, “With our reach, high-powered delegations from the Federal Government, executive members of states and local governments, members and leadership of the other arms of government in all the tiers of government in Nigeria as well lots of corporate heads and organizations across the nation have been invited to visit the Mundial.
“The platform of this event will offer a litmus test to the shape of things in the industry with the current paradigm shift in the sector as the automobile is undoubtedly the primary yardstick of success for any auto exhibition. This means auto enterprises showcasing at any exhibition must ensure visibility and wholeness/completeness, not leaving anything to chance.”
He stressed that the edition would be loaded with a whole lot of content designed to showcase the strength and resilience of the participants as well as create an educative and fun-filled atmosphere for all those visiting the show.
With the theme, this year’s theme: “promoting resilience, self-belief, and self-confidence,” the organizing committee chairman also noted that aside from the known strong brands coming to the show, a few others would debut, therefore creating an ambiance for the debutants to rub shoulders with the big boys, which would further expose the debutants to the workings of the industry.
He said, “This edition will show not only new entrants from the various brands but also the hot spot products in the market. All these exhibitors focus on displaying the new achievements and new breakthroughs in various aspects, particularly the indigenous ones.”
According to him, for over 20 years, his firm has been able to create a comprehensive automobile exchange platform drawing global attention, adding, “We believe that with high attention from all levels of government leaders, joint efforts of sponsors and organizers, strong support from the motoring journalists and people in all fields, and powerful market and social demands, the Abuja International Motor Fair will be better and better in the future.”
