…Takes Motoring Journalists on Facility Tour
Nigeria’s leading auto company, Coscharis Motors, on Thursday launched an ultra-modern workshop and aftersales facility for Geely auto brand in Lagos.
Assembled in Nigeria, courtesy of Coscharis, Geely, a frontline Chinese brand renowned for manufacturing of London Electric Taxi, at its Coventry-England plant ( through its subsidiary, the London Electric Vehicle Company ) also owns a design studio in England, from where many of its classy styling originate.
Themed: “Geely Found A New Home”, the event which held at the Coscharis’ Ikeja-Lagos office, was characterized by motoring press facility tour as well as underscores the start of the company’s takeover of Geely’s aftersales from its previous holder in Nigeria.
Speaking during the event, Cosmas Junior Maduka, Executive Director, Coscharis Group, described the occasion as not just launching a new workshop but a promise to deliver excellence, offer real value and serve Geely customers with integrity, innovation, and intentional care.
He asserted that Geely is not just a car brand, but a global symbol of progress—built on precision engineering, advanced technology, and customer-focused design.
“And now, that very symbol has found a new and trusted home with Coscharis,” he enthused, adding, “We are proud to extend our legacy of excellence, which already spans top-tier brands like BMW, Ford, Jaguar Land Rover, Renault, to now include Geely.

“But more than just carrying the name, we carry the responsibility. And that responsibility is captured in our mission: ‘To deliver excellent products and services, providing customers with the best value for their money, while contributing to societal development through technological innovation’.
“This is the lens through which we welcome Geely today. This is the standard we intend to uphold.”
According to Maduka, the event’s theme, ‘Geely has found a new home’, presages three key ways.
He explained: “One – this is a home of service excellence. We have launched a dedicated Geely workshop, equipped to global standards, staffed by brand-trained technicians, and supported with genuine spare parts and best-in-class diagnostics. It is built to serve efficiently, professionally, and promptly.
“Two – this is a home of customer value. Our mission puts the customer at the heart of everything. We are here to ensure that every Geely customer gets more than a product. They also get experience, support, and value for their money.
“Three – this is a home for innovation and growth. We are not simply replicating what others have done; we are setting a new benchmark.
“By investing in people, technology, and continuous improvement, we align with Geely’s future-forward vision and our own goal of driving societal development through technological innovation.”
According to Coscharis Group’s General Manager, Corporate Communication, Abiona Babarinde, Geely vehicles purchased from Coscharis come with six years warranty or 200,000km(whichever comes first).
“Although over 3000 Geely vehicles are presently on Nigerian roads, the good news is that, in line with Coscharis’ topnotch after service culture, for Geely, we have service centers in major cities and 13 states of the federation.”
Geely brand, which also owns Volvo, the global architect of automotive safety, manufactures the London Electric Taxi at its Coventry, England plant through its subsidiary, the London Electric Vehicle Company (LEVC). Specifically dedicated to producing electric vehicles, first of its kind in the UK, the factory, which opened in 2017, has a capacity to build over 20,000 vehicles per year.
Established in 2018, the UK Geely Design center, one of the company’s global network of design studios, contributes to the design and innovation of new Geely Auto models.
