Carloha Nigeria, the exclusive distributor of Chery vehicles in the country, is celebrating a major milestone as the Chery Tiggo 8 clinches five-star safety ratings from both ANCAP and Euro NCAP—two of the world’s toughest automotive safety bodies.
The dual certification cements the Tiggo 8’s standing as one of the safest family SUVs in today’s market, thanks to its advanced engineering, intelligent driver-assistance systems, and a safety-first philosophy embraced by Chery globally.
Felix Mahan, General Manager of Carloha Nigeria, said the recognition validates the brand’s commitment to Nigerian families. “These certifications reaffirm what we already know—the Tiggo 8 is engineered for families who prioritise safety without sacrificing comfort or performance. As we enter the festive season, when many families will be travelling, safety becomes even more critical,” he noted.
The Tiggo 8 Pro MAX earned a five-star ANCAP rating in 2024, with strong scores across key categories, including 88% Adult Occupant Protection and 87% Child Occupant Protection.
Soon after, the Tiggo 8 CSH secured a five-star Euro NCAP rating, confirming its comprehensive and balanced safety performance.
The Tiggo 8 features a high-strength body structure with over 60% high-strength steel and Benteler ultra-high-strength hot-formed steel in critical areas. This robust safety cage absorbs and dissipates impact energy effectively.
Inside, up to 10 airbags—supported by a 6-second pressure-retention system—provide all-round protection even during secondary collisions.
The Tiggo 8 comes equipped with L2+ Advanced Driver Assistance Systems delivering nearly 20 intelligent safety functions, including Autonomous Emergency Braking, Lane Keeping Assist, and Adaptive Cruise Control.
