[dropcap]M[/dropcap]embers of the Guild of Motoring Writers, United Kingdom plan to leave their press cars at the office and take their own vehicles to Castle Combe race circuit for the second Guild Big Day Out on Thursday 21st April.
Organized with the support of Honda (UK) Ltd, the track day event will see the Guild have exclusive use of the Wiltshire circuit near Chippenham for an open pit day of unlimited laps.
Both members and non-members are expected to participate. While the Guild will also welcome a number of industry guests to the day, which begins with registration (and free bacon butties) from 9am, with the circuit opening at 10am. Refreshments will be available all day; the circuit will close at 16.30am.
Competition cars are welcome as well as road cars, so long as they register below 100 decibels to meet the circuit’s weekday license.
Honda will be bringing along a selection of road cars for Guild members to test on the Castle Combe circuit, including the new Civic Type R. Other displays and activities are also being planned for the day and will be announced as they are finalized.
“Motoring journalists are used to putting manufacturer vehicles through their paces on race tracks around the world – but now there is the opportunity for them to see how their own cars go on one of the UK’s most popular club circuits,” said Chairman Guy Loveridge.
“The first Guild Big Day Out at Rockingham was a huge success and we’re delighted to be bringing it back for 2016.”
