The federal government has reiterated its commitment to revitalization of automobile component manufacturing in Nigeria.
Director General of NADDC, Mr. Joseph Osanipin reiterated this on Wednesday, while paying a courtesy call to His Excellency, Governor Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke of Osun State.
According to Osanipin, the revitalise the auto component local production will be revived through the proposed industrial parks, identifying Osun State and Anambra State as strategic locations due to various crucial factors such as logistics, nearness and natural resources. .
He also highlighted the significance of Osogbo as a pivotal site for the auto park’s development, emphasizing the collaboration required from the state government in order for it to maximise its potential for employment generation and economic boost.
At the meeting, the Director General said that the working visit was particularly aimed at strengthening the existing relationship between Osun state and NADDC towards advancing the Nigerian Auto Sector. He stressed that the proposed Auto Industrial Park in Osun State stems from the need to create an enabling environment for the auto industry to thrive through infrastructure development which will enhance production capacity for indigenous manufacturers of both automobiles and auto component parts.
Responding, Governor Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke acknowledged the outlined requirements and commended the initiative of the NADDC for deeming it fit to site the industrial park at Osun state. He However pledged the support of the Osun State government, and directed relevant authorities to facilitate necessary actions to ensure the success of the project.
In attendance at the visit were the Deputy Governor Prince Kola Adewusi, SSG Hon. Abere, Chief of Staff Alhaji Kazeem Akinleye, and Head of Service Mr. Samuel Ayanleye Aina.
The visit marks a pivotal step towards fostering synergy between the NADDC and industry stakeholders to propel Nigeria’s Auto Sector towards unprecedented growth and development.
