The 2021 edition of the Lagos Motor Fair, an annual event organized by BKG Exhibitions, which held from Monday, 30th of June came to a conclusion on Saturday 3rd of July 2021 at the Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos.
The highlight of the event featured one of the newest entrants into the Nigerian Auto scene, Mikano International (Motors Division), home of Geely Nigeria and ZNA Rich6 brand of pickup trucks.
Geely’s iconic models, the Geely Emgrand7 sedan and the newly launched Geely Coolray compact crossover were resplendently displayed at the fair alongside ZNA Rich 6 range of pickup trucks.
Showing the cars to Jelani Aliyu, the Director-General, National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC), who attended the event, Karima Okunola, Mikano Motors marketing manager stressed Geely’s commitment to making top quality and refined cars for everyone, at affordable price.
She explained: “Geely’s brand ethos is ‘making refined cars for everyone, the perfect meeting point for high-quality autos with the latest technological, best in class features at affordable price points.
“A similar principle goes for ZNA Rich 6 range of pickup trucks, delivering luxurious, durable, rugged, yet affordable light-duty trucks.”
Ms. Okunola reiterated the benefits that Geely Nigeria vehicles come with, including 5 years/150,000km best in-country warranty, financing options via partner banks, guaranteed resale value via trade-in options.
“The added value proposition,” she stressed, “includes Mikano International’s nationwide reach, readily available parts, combined with world-class after-sales service, all backed with Mikano International’s dependable warranty, to ensure that all Geely Nigeria customers are assured of total peace of mind with the purchase of a Geely vehicle.”
Speaking during his tour of the event, Aliyu commended the dedication of BKG Exhibitions and the exhibitors at this year’s fair for continuing the tradition, despite the devastating impact of the Coronavirus pandemic on the economy.
The DG encouraged exhibitors to remain forward-thinking in their outlook and follow the industry trends towards reliance on cleaner energy. He also advised exhibitors at the fair to continue to focus on developing local assembly plants and invest in local talent.
Mikano International, a foremost leading solutions provider in Nigeria for almost 3 decades, stormed the Nigerian auto scene again in January 2021, with the launch of Geely Nigeria; a strategic partnership between Mikano International and Geely Auto Group.
With the strength of Mikano International’s trusted reputation, Geely Nigeria has rapidly gained ground as one of the fastest-rising Auto brands in the country. Geely Holdings, owners of Volvo Autos (since 2010), are also the largest shareholders at Daimler A. G (the parent company for Mercedes Benz), as well as owning LEVC, the manufacturers of the iconic London black cabs.
“Geely’s international reputation is built on extensive research and development that has influenced the quality, safety, reliability and level of technology that the Geely brand embodies,” Okunola added.
