FRSC Warns Truck Drivers, Motorists against Recklessness

As Tanker, Container Empties Content On the Road

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has warned drivers of container-laden trucks and other motorists against reckless driving.

Sango-Ota Unit Commander of FRSC, Akeem Ganiyu gave this warning on Saturday during an inspection of an accident at Sango-Ota toll gate which involved a container marked EKY21 YA and a tanker with registration number SMK 279 that emptied its content on the road.

The container which, according to him, ‘’ was heading toward San-Ota from Lagos hit the edge of a tanker loaded with 33,000 litters of premium motor spirit popularly  known as fuel. This led to the fuel leaking from the hole made on the tanker by the articulated vehicle.’’

He said, ‘’ though no life was lost but the FRSC is appealing to truck drivers and other motorists to exercise patience and desist from reckless act that could lead to accident.’’

Ganiyu said,’’ however, the danger was averted with the help of fire service men while the FRSC and other sister agencies controlled the traffic.’’

He warned container drivers and other motorists shun reckless driving and be careful especially at the bad portion of the road to avoid accident.
