[dropcap]O[/dropcap]f all Mercedes exhibited cars at the recently concluded Detroit Motor Show, none caught as much attention as its F015 Luxury Motion, a supposed car of the future, a weird-looking thing, looking so much out-of-this world that even many who did not visit the show but only viewed its pictures online made some of the weirdest comments ever made about any car.
Its picture elicited a wired exclamation from Dana:” What the heck is that? A giant suppository?”
Kevin: ” It does look futuristic. However, I hope that future never comes to fruition.”
Nolan: “Oh look, a lemon that drives itself. “
Alan : “Finally! Mercedes design has caught up with the Space balls Mercedes concept! “
Common Tater : “This looks like the vehicle that Will Smith drove in I Robot”
Chris :”Let me guess a car with doors, I could be wrong here?”
Bear :”Is that a cockroach? “
Well. One thing we can tell you from Motoring World is that it is a car of huge shape, massive wheels, weird-looking wraparound taillights, but with interior loaded with luxurious features, fine woods and leathers. How you get into the car is another story, it is boarded through a ban door that opens up to 90 degrees.
While its luxurious interior features seats that swivel around to face each other, six screens with touch-based controls. You may call the car cockroach or mosquito. To Mercedes, this is “a digital arena”. If it would ever go into production, it can’t be anything less than a moving luxurious ensuit apartment that needs no driver.
And guess what?
It’s going to be an autonomous car powered by electric motor and fuel cell.
