…As First Bank Wins Brand new Toyota Yaris
Nigeria’s Ministry of Defense has won Toyota Nigeria Limited’s Customer of the Year Award, with a cash prize of N2 Million. The award was announced at the company’s 2019 award night held on Thursday at the Lagos Civic Centre.
The company also rewarded MTN Nigeria Limited (second runner-up) and Department of Petroleum Resources (first Runner up), with cash prize of N1million and N1.5 million respectively.
Notwithstanding, star winner of the event was First Bank Nigeria, which clinched Evergreen Customer of the year award with a reward of a brand new Toyota Yaris.
Speaking during the event, the Chairman, Toyota Nigeria Limited, Chief Michael Ade-Ojo described the award night an occasion for savoring the success and progress collectively recorded with its customers and partners.
“The partnership,” he said, “has endured for nearly 5 decades, a partnership whose history is replete exciting and nostalgic moments, a partnership that has come to stay.’’
According to Chief Ade-Ojo, history of Toyota brand in Nigeria and that of Toyota Nigeria has been a mixture of good time and challenging times.
“However, “he pointed out, “with the cooperation and support of our loyal and ever reliable customers and partners, we have remained strong and formidable. Our customers in particular have supported us through thick and thin. They continue to be our source of strength and pillar of support; their support has made us a force to reckon with in automobile industry in the country and it is our joy to seize every available opportunity to celebrate you.’’
Also speaking at the event, the company’s Managing Director, Mr. Kunle Ade-Ojo described Toyota award as a unique programme organized every year by Toyota Nigeria in honour of its customers.
He explained: “It is forum whereby Toyota customers, who stood out in the preceding year in term of the number of vehicles purchased from our dealers, are given recognition and rewards.’’
According to the TNL boss, though the Nigerian economy still remains fragile and auto industry remains weak, Toyota Nigeria remains resilient with a never- give-up attitude and will continue to innovate ways to serve its customers better in aftersales service and in the products
He stated further: “We recognize more than ever before the need for skilled and well- trained hands as well as quality facilities for maintenance of your vehicles. Toyota Nigeria is ready to support you adequately in this regards. Therefore, we will like you to take advantage of improved after-sales facilities of our dealers’ network so as to enjoy the technical know-how and superior infrastructure, which are available only within the accredited dealers network of Toyota Nigeria.
“This way, you will be prolonging the life of your Toyota vehicles with peace of mind and pleasant motoring experience.’’
In the media category, overall winner was Rasheed Bisiriyu of Punch Newspaper. While Theodore Opara of Vanguard Newspaper and Mike Ochonma of Business Day emerged first and second runner-up respectively.
