One of the UK’s leading specialist classic vehicle insurance brokers, Footman James, is searching for Land Rovers with a personal story to tell.
This year marks the 70th anniversary of the first ever production Land Rover and in a bid to celebrate the iconic marque, a special event will be held at Bicester Heritage for collectors, restorers and enthusiasts to enjoy.
Land Rover Legends is a brand-new event for 2018 and will be held on the 26th and 27th May, aiming to honour not only the vehicles, from pre-production to rare or bespoke conversions, but also showcase the stories and people that the brand has impacted and influenced over the years.
A significant part of the Land Rover Legends event will be the National Awards, which will see Land Rover vehicles compete against each other to be crowned best in their category by a panel of expert judges. Footman James, will be sponsoring one award in particular;
The Footman James Land Rover Legends Award: This award will be granted to an individual with a story, that illustrates and epitomizes the essence of the distinctive Land Rover brand. Examples of this could be, ‘My Best Adventure with my Landy’- how you have traveled all four corners of the world in one vehicle; or maybe your Land Rover has an interesting history that stands out from the rest. Whatever your story, Footman James wants to hear it.
The lucky winner will have an array of prizes to support their achievement, ranging from, but not limited to, their special Land Rover being displayed center-stage on the Footman James stand at the event, VIP weekend tickets, an interview on stage and a feature in the Land Rover Legends programme.
Nominations are open now and will close on 16th April. To be in with a chance of winning the award, individuals will need to submit their stories and a picture of their Land Rover to Footman James through an online nomination form. The entries will then be carefully considered on individual merit, before being shortlisted to a final six. The final six selected Land Rovers will vie for the public vote, with the winner being announced on April 27th.
