Technologies that Make All-new Ford Escape Ideal Suburban SUV for Nigeria

Recently launched by Coscharis Motors, the exclusive distributor of Ford vehicles in Nigeria, the all-new Ford Escape delivers bold styling, unmatched capability, and refinement in the mid-size SUV segment.

Ford engineers have also packed the Escape with modern connectivity and driver-assist features that make every drive easier, safer and more efficient.

“We are very excited that the new Escape has joined our line-up,” says Abiona Babarinde, GM of Marketing and Communications at Coscharis Motors. “More importantly, our customers are thrilled too. With stunning new design inside and out, smart technologies, fuel-efficient yet powerful engines, and five-star safety, it’s a vehicle that can be so many different things for our customers.”

Wherever the road takes you, you will love these five new technologies* in the all-new Ford Escape,

Voice control

Ford’s SYNC3 infotainment system (dependent on spec-level), allows you to pair your phone with the system, and use your voice to call the office or home, play your favourite music, listen to a text, or stay on track with satellite navigation, and you never have to take your hands off the steering wheel. A new interface features larger, easier to operate buttons and, like your smartphone, pinch and swipe gestures are available for the first time.

Hands-free access

Thanks to the Escape’s hands-free foot-activated Power Tailgate (dependent on spec-level), there is no need to fumble for your keys when your hands are full with grocery bags or little ones. With your Intelligent Access Key in your pocket or purse, your Escape will know once you have approached the vehicle. All you have to do to access the vehicle’s boot space is to kick or swipe your foot beneath the bumper – the liftgate will open automatically.

Adaptive cruise control

With Ford’s Adaptive Cruise Control (dependent on spec-level), you can select the speed and distance you want to maintain from the vehicle in front of you. When traffic ahead slows down, your Escape will automatically slow down too, and when the traffic clears, it will accelerate and maintain the pre-set speed you have selected. All you have to do is steer.

Adaptive front lighting system

The Adaptive Front Lighting System (dependent on spec-level) makes driving in the dark easier. It monitors ambient light conditions, and automatically optimises visibility by adjusting the beam angle of the Escape’s new Bi-Xenon headlights, depending on the vehicle’s speed, steering angle, and distance to the object in front. The system features anti-glare capability, and manoeuvring beam abilities.

Parking made easy

If you dislike parking, the Escape is available with Enhanced Active Park Assist (dependent on spec-level), which helps you park in a variety of situations. Parallel Parking and Reverse Perpendicular Parking systems are able to scan if a parking space is suitable. And if you need help moving out of a tight spot, Ford Park-Out Assist provides instructions on shifting and moving forward/back once you need to be on your way again. Additionally, the Side Sensing System emits a warning when you get too close to an object on either side of your vehicle.
