Lagos Gas truck Explosion caused by Angry Driver?

Explosion which, on Thursday, rocked Cele Bus Stop, along Grailand, Ajuwon, Lagos state of Nigeria, damaging several vehicles and causing injuries for many, was said to have resulted from argument which enraged the truck driver, Motoring World’s finding revealed.

Event leading to the explosion started, when the driver of the gas truck and the delivery officer went into argument over an alleged tampering with manufacturer’s seal.

We learnt that the truck’s front tyre burst, as the angry driver reversed the truck, as a result of which its cabin hit the cockpit, resulting in the deadly explosion. As a result, several nearby vehicles were set ablaze, as onlookers ran for safety.

Addressing the media at the scene, Director of Operation for Lagos state Emergency Management Authority (LASEMA) Engr. Olatunji Akinsanya, claimed to have received a distress call some minutes after 3pm after which he immediately deplored fire trucks to the scene.

As at the time of filing the report, it was unclear if any one died as a result of the explosion, but Motoring World gathered that many victims sustained burns as a result of which they were rushed to Iju waterworks clinic.
