He said: “Our company will play major role in haulage industry in Nigeria, as we partner with our parent company in leasing Ford truck which is the number one truck in Europe and America. These trucks are brand new as safety is guaranteed. When we leased, client will have to pay monthly lease rental.

‘’We are going to use technology to drive our booking system of vehicle. So our customers can log into our website, book vehicles, make payments and have the vehicles delivered to them.

“Our booking app named ‘My Ride’ is already available on google play store. This will also make vehicle booking seamless for our customers.’’

On what informed the idea of driving academy, Chigbundu recalled:”My daughter informed me of her intention to learn to drive. I asked her to look for a driving school, where she could be taught to drive, and   she found one online.

“Attempting to locate the school, she discovered that it had no office address. This discovery motivated the establishment of this driving school with the purpose of bringing a positive change in driving across the nation.’’

On the requirement of setting up a driving school in Nigeria, Mr. Hygenus Omeje, Lagos State Sector commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), who was also a special guest at the occasion, lauded Coscharis Mobility for its big plans for haulage business and also advised future owners of driving schools to emulate the company’s standard.

Outlining some of the requirements for setting up a driving school in Nigeria, Omeje said it is no more an acceptable practice to set up driving school without an office and necessary facilities.

“If you want to do driving school business,” he explained, “after registration with Corporate Affairs Commission, you approach Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) and we will give the list of requirement.

“You must have an office like Coscharis Mobility Academy that we can identify. There must be a conducive training hall, Simulator, Vehicles that must meet minimum safety standard, teaching aids and instructional materials like this academy before you can be certified.

“At least, basic minimum standard must be met. By the time we do our report to Abuja, we will now include them in our porter before they commence operation.’’

On his part, the General Manager, Corporate Communications, Coscharis Group, Babarinde Obadina said, ‘’in spite of the challenges of doing business in Nigeria, Coscharis will always strive to continually create value, and one of the values is what we are witnessing today, Mobility Driving Academy.

“You can create value when you have pedigree and integrity; then endorsement will come from your regulator. If all these have not been done over the years like Coscharis has done in the country, you won’t have the least officer from FRSC being a part of it. With the Sector Commander coming here, i don’t think we need any more endorsement than what we have gotten.”

Coscharis Mobility Limited and Sixt Nigeria came into existence in 2014 with a vision of creating value by making a change in the transport and Logistic industry in Nigeria.

Services rendered by Coscharis Mobility Limited include: short and medium term car rental service, Long term car rental, Fleet Management and Consulting, Haulage and Supply Chain management and Outsourcing and HR Consulting.
