Why Two Rugby Players Prefer Jeep Wrangler…“I was like a kid at Christmas waiting for its arrival,” says one of them

Two Wales rugby internationals well-versed in tough tackling on the pitch are now able to tackle the toughest terrain off it after taking delivery of their new Jeep Wrangler SUVs.

Cardiff Blues and WRU tighthead, Dillon Lewis and former WRU and current Worcester Warriors centre, Ashley Beck, both chose the iconic SUV – the ultimate go-anywhere 4×4 – as their daily drives independently of one and other.

Both bought their Wrangler from Nathaniel Cars, which has dealerships in Bridgend and Cardiff, United Kingdom and is one of the newest retailers in Jeep’s UK network.

Six-foot tighthead prop Lewis chose the aggressively styled 4dr Wrangler Night Eagle special edition finished in Granite Crystal.

Neath-born Beck meanwhile, opted for a model equally well suited to his 6’3” frame – a 2.0-litre Wrangler Sahara 4dr in Ocean Blue.

Wayne Griffiths, dealer principal of Nathaniel Cars Jeep, said: “We’re all huge supporters of Welsh rugby at Nathaniel Cars and so being able to count two great players like Dillon and Ashley among our customers fills us with pride.

“They’re both big, athletic lads with a real physical presence so the Wrangler’s the perfect car for them. They’ve chosen well.”

Taking delivery of his new car, Dillon said: “The Jeep Wrangler’s such an iconic model and it really stands out, but it’s also got all the latest technology I was looking for. I’ve been like a kid at Christmas waiting for it to arrive at the dealership.”

Ashley added: “I absolutely love my new Wrangler – it’s perfect for all the country lanes around Worcestershire, but it’s definitely not just going to be something I use for my day-to-day driving. I can’t wait to get off road in it and to have some serious fun.”
