[dropcap]C[/dropcap]hidi Ekeananyanwu loves cars. She fancies driving. All she has done for a living for the past 10 years has been about cars. She sells auto machines. A personnel of Nigeria’s multi-brand auto marketing and manufacturing company, Chidi has marketed various auto brands, including Honda, Hyundai and Skoda. Presently, she markets VW only.
Last Friday was her birthday, the same day that all-new Volkswagen Passat was launched into the Nigerian market.
In an exclusive chat with Motoring World International at the occasion of VW Passat Nigeria launch, Chidi, who is in her 30s, revealed her original dream car, which is the Volkswagen Touareg.
Were she to spend a motoring holiday in outer space, all by herself, one car she would love to be with and cruise in is the VW Touareg.
“Have you seen the 2016 model?” she asked this writer, eyes opened, face beaming with excitement. “I bet you, you wouldn’t want to leave that car. Once you board it, you wouldn’t want to come out of it. It’s super. I don’t mind receiving a Touareg for my birthday!”
Notwithstanding, there is little secrete about her, which would be handy for Chidi’s lover during this Valentine season.
Maybe he is planning to offer her a bunch of flowers with expensive shoes, bag and wristwatch, there is a better and more effective gift, which would put her more in the Val mood.
In actual fact, she would be chuffed receiving a gift of a particular automobile model, not necessarily Touareg. What would that be? Check it out in the chat below.
Aside motoring talks during the chat, she also speaks passionately about her auto marketing career, her impression about Stallion Motors and lots more. Relax and enjoy the natter.
Welcome to our special Valentine edition of MY LIFE, MY CAR, inside this week’s edition of Motoring World International (MOWI)…
It went like this:
MOWI: For how long have you been driving?
Chidi: I’ve been driving for like nine years
MOWI: How did you learn driving?
Chidi: Of course I went to driving school
MOWI: Why did you learn driving when you did?
Chidi: It was because I love cars and I love driving
MOWI: Honestly, what car do you dream to own?
Chidi: My dream car is Volkswagen Touareg
Chidi: Have you seen the 2016 model? I bet you, you wouldn’t want to leave that car. Once you board it, you wouldn’t want to come out of it. It’s super. I don’t mind if you can just give me a Touareg for my birthday present.
MOWI: If you were to travel to outer space and go with only one car.,
Chidi It’s Touareg
MOWI: Well, incidentally, today is your birthday. Congratulations.
Chidi: Thank you
MOWI: On a special day like this, what gift would you appreciate most from your lover?
Chidi: (lol) Umnn. To be honest, I won’t mind the new Volkswagen Passat, at all. That would do me.
MOWI: Why? But what about the Touareg?
Chidi: That’s in a different class and, like I told you, it’s my dream car. But as for the new Passat..Oh!! I love it. Apart from being reliable, it has got ability, durability, comfort, space, name it! It’s very roomy, and underneath, its ground clearance is just suitable for the Nigerian terrain. Just check it out inside, isn’t that analogue clock fascinating? I love the quality of its interior materials and indeed its entire cabin design. Oh is it the layout of the gauges and controls you want to talk about? Or its new infotainment system?
Even don’t get inside, check out its exterior. Can you see those sleek horizontal lines with nicely shaped headlight units and LED headlamps? I can go on and on..
MOWI: Alright… I’m convinced you love it. Now. For how long have you been working with Stallion?
Chidi: 10 years
MOWI: What is your impression about the organization?
Chidi: They are good and staff-friendly too. If otherwise, I wouldn’t have been here for 10 years.. They take good care of their staff. They are very good.
MOWI: Being female, how does it feel marketing cars?
Chidi: I’ve always had passion for cars. It’s part of me now. Now I can close my eyes and tell you things about not just the VW, but other brands, because the first time I came here, I was placed under All-Brands. So I have sold other vehicles, including: Honda, Hyundai, Skoda and others. There was a time they offered me to go to another brand. But I prefer this.
MOWI: How do you market and sell cars?
Chidi: I go to the field to market. But most of the customers are referrals. I can tell you, after using VW, you wouldn’t want to go back to any other brand again. I have a customer. He has bought and used Passat. He has owned a Jetta. He has used Audi. He has bought up to seven VW from me. Presently, he is using a VW CC. And he has referred many customers. Sometimes, when a prospective customer comes here, I would just give him or her his phone number and say, “please call this person, I don’t need to market that long. He’d just help me and market customers.
