Stallion Group, Bajaj Keke Honoured at Nigeria Auto Industry Awards

Stallion Group, Nigeria’s multi-brand automobile franchisee and local auto assembler, has been honoured with the 2022 multi-brand auto assembler of the year award.

The event, which is organized annually by the nation’s automotive journalists (NAJA) from print, electronic and digital media, was attended by critical stakeholders in the Nigerian auto industry, including a representative from the Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC), Dauda Ali Biu.

Stallion’s automobiles division, a collective sub-group of companies, represents an array of globally renowned automobile brands on an exclusive basis for assembly, distribution, sale and after-sale services. The auto brands under the umbrella of Stallion include Honda, Hyundai, Nissan, Volkswagen, Porsche, Audi, Skoda, Changan and Ashok Leyland, all of which collectively contribute to over 45 per cent share of the new automobiles market in Nigeria.

In a bid to complement the federal government’s efforts towards enhancing public transportation systems as well as reviving the nation’s auto industry, Stallion Group, decades ago, bought over and invested in what used to be a moribund facility formerly used by Volkswagen of Nigeria and its Germany partners on the Badagry Seme Expressway in Lagos.

Refurbished and equipped with the latest machinery and tools to be able to assemble a range of branded passenger vehicles with the highest quality standards, the plant has since been rolling out City Buses, Pick Ups, Trucks and other similar multi-brand vehicles specially designed for the nation’s temperate weather and terrains.

With an installed capacity of 200,000 units annually and a warehouse of 100,000 square metres, the plant, which incorporate training and maintenance facilities, spreads across 310 acres.

In his remarks,  Chairman of NAJA, Mike Ochonma said winners were selected based on impressive performance in Nigeria auto industry, despite a challenging macro-economic environment in the year under review.’’
