75% of Porsche Ever Produced Still On the Road

Though Porsche started actual car production as far back 1948, 75% of cars produced since then are still on the road.

Porsche 911 (964), introduced in 1989, was the first to be offered with Porsche’s Tiptronic transmission and four-wheel drive.

The Sales Manager, Porsche Centre Lagos, Josephine Nwosu made the disclosure during the unveiling of the third generation Porsche Cayenne held in Lagos recently .

According to her, 75% of Porsche ever produced are still on the road, because the company consistently supports its old model (the classic).

“There is nothing like old Porsche,” she said. “We only have new customers, because the Porsche keeps changing hands. There is no old Porsche, only new customers. You can actually trade in the one you are using and take another from us.

“When you buy a Porsche, you are given a warranty of two years. After two years warranty, Porsche can give you a standard warranty of another ten years. While your two-year is about to expire, you drive in your car to undergo a point 111 inspection check after which you get an extended warranty of ten years.

“The advantage for you is that when you are reselling your car, the new customer knows he can get a manufacturer warranty. We stand by our quality. If you can’t stand by your quality, you can’t offer a ten years warranty on it.’’

“The other beauty of the Porsche apart from the warranty’, she noted, ‘’ is that your first service is actually one year or10,000 km. We really want you to enjoy the car but within a year, in the eleventh month to be precise, we send you a gift to alert you that your car is one year and that you can come for service. Whether your car is 10,000 km or not, we all like to see the car. Like after the rainy season, we call in the car and give free service just to check them up.’’
