400 Staffs of ABC Transport Trained on Productivity

Not less than 400 staffs of ABC Transport, Nigeria, recently acquired productivity training. Tilted: ‘Rejuvenating the Culture of Defensive Driving in ABC transport’, the training, which held in Lagos and Owerri respectively, was, according to a statement from the company, aimed at securing a team of qualified and competent staff to man ABC Transport’s daily operations.‘

Participants which were drawn from various departments in the company include:   drivers and attendants from coach, cargo and haulage.

The drivers and attendants were primarily trained on vehicle maintenance, tyre management, and operational challenges.

Earlier, ABC Transport had organized series of workshops for its station managers and cargo supervisors.

The management of ABC Transport had, a few weeks before the driving crew training kicked off, recognized and celebrated drivers and attendants who did not record any accident at its Accident-free Award ceremony on July 17, in Owerri, Imo State.Over 200 drivers and attendants were awarded cash prizes.

abctransport01The annual event, saw drivers who had no accidents for five years in a row also honoured. Dignitaries such as Dr. Godwin Omiko, Sector Commander, FRSC, Imo state command, Dr. Laz Okoroji, Head of Department, Transport Management Technology, FUTO, Mrs Blessing Chinyere Ejifugha, State Traffic Officer, Owerri, Nigeria Police Force, and Mr Chukwuneke Agabarkwe, Head, Programme, FRCN Radio Nigeria, Imo state graced the event. The Commissioner of Police, Imo state, was ably represented by Mr Durosimi, Head, Operations, Nigeria Police Force. Members of the media also graced the annual occasion. The MD/CEO, Mr Frank Nneji, OON, and his top management staff were at the event.

Meanwhile, ABC Transport has scheduled its 22nd Annual General Meeting to hold in September 2015 at Mayfair Suites and Conference Centre, Owerri. The actual date would soon be made public.

ABC Transport Plc remains the only road transport company currently listed on the Nigerian Stock Exchange, providing haulage services for WAPCO-Lafarge, UNICEM, Nestle Waters, GZ Industries, etc. ABC Transport also operates cargo services and third party warehousing at Katamkpe, Abuja.
